They cannot enter highsec legally - since some of them are -10 or near security status. So they are using a new mining support ship, the Orca, never intended for this purpose, to bring in their pirate Thoraxes to meet them in pods. They are doing this dozens of times every week - and many times a day. They quickly come into highsec in pods, and meet their team of ill repute - jump in their suicide Thoraxes, and attack miners for their sport. They have found a loophole in the Universe. Is it right - or will the Creators close it? Some thoughts: -5 and below security status pods coming into highsec could meet with some new, enhanced, and rather nasty security measures * gate webs and scrams that work well on outlaw pods, allowing time for CONCORD to arrive within 20 km of gates * gate scanners that take note (these are very special new scanners) that said Orcas contain the worst outlaws. Originally by: Traedar TBH it sounds like an exploit... not a "OMG you are gonna be banned" exploit but more along the lines of a privateer/wardec exploit that could get nerfed to hell with enough noise about it. Much pirate whining will follow. If CCP agrees, one of the following could be a decent fix: The Orca in question is flagged criminal for helping the pirates. Ship loss after high sec criminal act will stop receiving insurance payouts (this hasn't happened YET?) Pirates in ships spawn a Concord spawn in high sec if they are not at a gate (no idea if this currently happens?) I think "uberized" gate defenses for shooting pirate pods in high sec will not happen and is not really a good idea. TBH it really sounds like an illegitimate way around the "pirates can't enter high sec in anything but a pod" rule and gives them an unfair advantage that they weren't supposed to have (a high sec combat ship). It seems like as much an exploit as cycling alts to avoid sec loss.

If they are not exploiting this rule - then why not drop it and let all pirates in with -10 sec status now? Why not - because it is the rule. They would create chaos in secure highsec mining ops. So the rule was put in. They are creating a type of Trojan horse to get their ships in - to get around this rule. One way to combat it would be to stop their pods at the gates with Uber statis webs and scrams and guns. Poor pirates would not enjoy that! Listen to you all trying to twist yourselves in knots to justify sneaking in ships in an Orca, and then running in pods, jumping in, and ganking Hulks. You know this is not correct! You are not fooling anyone. Industrialists need super-hulks and drones maybe that they could buy to blow up cruisers in a 30 km radius of their ships - without hurting themselves.
